چکیده

The focus on macrophyte community has increased due to their implications either on the electricity generation or on greenhouse gas production and emission. A TM/Landsat5 time series was used to assess the spatial-temporal variability of the area covered by floating macrophytes in Tucuruí dam, Pará State. The map produced by Boolean operation among classified historical images suggests that tributaries have suitable conditions for the retention of macrophyte stands. This fact may be assigned to the constant nutrient availability, to the lower hydrodynamic processes, and to the dead tree trunk effect producing a windless environment and a substrate to macrophytes in the tributaries.

Assessment of the abnormal growth of floating macrophytes in Winam Gulf (Kenya) by using MODIS imagery time series

The objective of this research study is to assess the capability of time-series of MODIS imagery to provide information suitable for enhancing the understanding of the temporal cycles shown by the abnormal growth of the floating macrophytes in order to support monitoring and management action of Lake Victoria water resources. The proliferation of invasive plants and aquatic weeds is of growing ...

Combining of Magnitude and Direction of Change Indices to Unsupervised Change Detection in Multitemporal Multispectral Remote Sensing Images

In remote sensing, image-based change detection techniques, analyze two images acquired over the same area at different times t1 and t2 to identify the changes occurred on the Earth's surface. Change detection approaches are mainly categorized as supervised and unsupervised. Generating the change index is a key step for change detection in multi-temporal remote sensing images. Unsupervised chan...

Revealing the impact of changing land use of the annual spatiotemporal boundary layer height (Kermanshah Case Study)

Introduction Atmospheric boundary layer (ABL), is the lowest part of the atmosphere. Its behavior is directly influenced by its contact with earth surface. On earth it usually responds to changes in surface radiative forcing in an hour or less. In this layer physical quantities such as flow velocity, temperature, moisture, etc., display rapid fluctuations (turbulence) and vertical mixing is st...

Temporal and spatial variation of the phytoplankton community in the Chahnime Reservoirs-Sistan

This study investigated seasonal changes in density and diversity of phytoplankton, chlorophyll a content, and some environmental characteristics in the Sistan region during 2014. Totally, we detected 28 genera that belonged to five groups of Chlorophyta (12 genera), Bacilloriophyta (7 genera), Cyanophyta (5 genera), Dinophyta (3 genera), and Euglenophyta (1 genus). We observed that Chlorophyta...

Temporal and spatial patterns of aquatic macrophyte diversity in the Upper Paraná River floodplain.

Although the importance of long-term data has been emphasized by ecologists in recent years, little is known about how communities may change over time. In this study, we describe the general patterns of aquatic macrophyte diversity in the Paraná River floodplain observed during six years of study. Temporal changes in community composition were also evaluated. Data on the presence or absence of...
